Energy Supplements

Lately , I have been soo busy around the house , that I wasn't able to update this blog anymore. I became dependent on coffee and i thought of giving it a break for this week. But i wonder how will I have those energy I need to survive the day ? My friend suggested that I try these Acai Berry Energy Supplements . It is an all natural product that has became popular because of it's effectivity. I am a bit hesistant at first to give it a try because I'm afraid that it might not taste really good. I have this thinking that natural stuff tastes blank. But my freidn said that i should give it a try first for me to find out. So later, I will order online and hopefully , i will receive it any time this week. I am still browsing their site and they have a lot of natural products available. Hmm , I wonder what will I get for my husband.

medical help

Who wouldn't need one?

Aside from the regular check up of my kids at their pediatrician, I as a mom loves to search online for some common illness and first aid treatments to accidents. Over the counter drugs are such a big help too, so I make it a point to check out some online drugstores on what they can offer. There are also some specialists online who can help you out in your queries and health research. Like if you want to Know more about cures for ailments and neuroimaging from specialist Dr Daniel Amen
, you can find more information at his website , and from there you'll learn more about over the counter medication, herbal medicine , doctors prescription etc. He also shares common symptoms , treatments and cures that are so applicable for home settings. Find more information about this through Dr. Daniel Amen's profile. Get the best on Cures for Ailments by checking their website.

Drink Healthy

The health of my kids is something that I always put into priority. I see to it that they eat healthy, be up to date with their immunization and I monitor them round the clock once they are sick. But still, I know that one way or another, they will get sick later on. But nothing beats being cautious and vigilant. One thing that I really check in our house is the drinking water. personally I have a poor digesting stomach, so until now I can only drink distilled ones, same goes for my kids. It's okay to pay a few extra bucks in getting a good drinking water. Just recently, I bought a Water Softener online , and this is what I plan to use for cooking needs. The Water softener is manufactured by LifeSource, they specialize on residential or commercial water system. They have a unique cleaning system. No salt, no chemicals or magnets are applied during the process so you are guaranteed of its high quality. Many households are now using this water softener as i have seen their testimonials on how this product provides safety for their families. They swear on its efficiency. This is really one great investment for the family.

Her First ER trip

January 22, 2009 .

I woke up at 5 in the morning because I heard her cry for milk.As I positioned her for breastfeeding, I felt that her temperature was a bit feverish. She has colds since Monday, so I am thinking that this slight fever could be because of the colds. I woke up my husband and asked him to get the thermometer, and her temperature was 37.8 C. I tried to freshen her up and after feeding, she was in deep slumber. But the slight fever didn't dropped at all, so we decided to take her to the Emergency Room of UST at 2pm.

Horrible horrible traffic ! We got there after almost an hour, well in fact we could have been there in 15 mins (kasama na slight traffic jan ha). Her fever didn't even reached 38C, but I dont have plans of waiting for that to happen so we rushed her to the ER. Why ER? Her pedia doesnt have a clinic during Thursdays kasi :)

So anyway, we underwent the usual ER routine , Q & A etc etc. She had a CBC test , and all the results were normal. She was just sleeping then , but she cried when she had blood extraction. They pricked her right footie. So far, they say its viral. But I am still asked to closely monitor her breathing pattern (since we have a history of asthma) , milk intake , cough and colds etc. Upon reaching home , i gave her sponge bath and the doctors told me that I can always freshen her up with sponge bath , and if the fever will reach 38C, I can give Paracetamol.

As of writing, her temp is 36.4 and hopefully it wont reach more than 37.5 again. I am just sooo paranoid and panicky lately. I never thought that I would still act like a new mom with my 2nd baby. Ang hirap pag sila may sakit. Anyway, she's better now, hopefully , tuloy tuloy na. Her milk intake didnt subside either. She's 7 kilos at 2 months and 3 weeks :)

Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is an asbestos - caused cancer of the membranes that surround many of the body’s vital organs. I recently researched about this because I am helping out a friend with her thesis for medical school. Symptoms and treatments were discussed at the website and they even provide support group not only to the patients but to the parents and families as well. There's even Mesothelioma lawyer that helps the patient in filing asbestos lawsuits. Hopefully, my friend will finish her thesis on time and I wish her all the luck in her defense. She worked hard for this and she deserves to get good grades too.

Health Check

I admit that im not paying much attention with my health lately. I've been a lot of chips and chocolates and i know that's one of the reason why I cant go back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Since I am still breastfeeding my daughter , i also want to eat healthy from now on. As much as I really wanted to try some fat burner that I can easily get online, I would need to pass now since my daughter directly feeds from me. Maybe after a few months, I won't shed off a few extra pounds, then I will really consider these fat burners.

Shower Chairs

This is not for the kids , nor for me. This is for my uncle who was recently admitted in a health care facility because of pneumonia and old age. He lives with his wife who is also a senior already. And since they are both in capable of taking care of the other one who is sick , a health care institute is their last resort. This is not permanent though. So now, we make it a point to visit him at the facility and see his routine. He gets bored sometimes but i guess its natural to feel that way. My aunt bought him shower chairs to keep him comfortable during bath time. We noticed , the health care staff didnt had a hard time with him during showers because of this chair, so my aunt decided to get one for home use when he gets discharged, which is anytime soon.

Clearer Vision

I need to get myself new eyeglasses. The one that I am currently using when Im in front of the computer had a cracked frame. I accidentally placed it under my pillow after reading a book, and when I woke up the following morning, i saw it in pieces already. Im on a lookout for Great Eyeglasses For Less , and lucky me , I saw Zenni Optical was on FOX news! Since I am only using it at home, I am really not particular with tiny details. As long as it gives me a good fit and price, it will be perfect. I saw Variable Dimension Frames From Zenni , and im considering that design for me. Here's a sample of their collection.

Home Care

When my uncle got really sick of pneumonia last month, he had a hard time recovering and the doctors at the hospital suggested that he should stay at a nursing home for the mean time since my Aunt is a bit old enough to take care of him. My family helped my Aunt looking for one near their area, and they looked at some San Jose homecare listings . The location needs to be within their area of course , so my Aunt can see my uncle anytime he desires. My mom also helped out my Aunt in figuring out and deciding which one to choose. There's a lot of homecare in the area, but they need to get the one that would meet their needs and their budget too. Each establishment offers different type of services for their patients too. I do hope that my uncle will recover soon so he can go back to his normal life. These home care establishments are such a blessing, because with the busy life that they have there, they are guaranteed that someone is looking after their loved one.

hyperthyroidism and pregnancy

I just ha a blood test (FT4 and TSH ) last Friday night at UST for my hyperthyroidism . Yes, I'm hyperthyroid and I found out everything about this when I was pregnant with Joaqui. Sad to say, I was given some medications then ( PTU ,that i have to take everyday). I am so not into taking meds while pregnant, but when i had a consultation with an endocrinologist, everything was explained to me clearly , and the meds given to me is considered safe for preggos.

I was really praying hard then for Joaqui's safety too. We all know about Hypothyroidism in babies, and that really alarmed me too much. Joaqui's newborn screening results were all OK, but to be on the safer side, my endo requested for some blood tests for Joaqui when he was 2 months old. Still, everything was on the normal range, but for monitoring purposes, we consulted a pedia- endocrinologist. He was monitored every 2-3 months then. Now, every 6 months na lang. Aside from the blood tests, pedia asked us on developments, like if he can sit unassisted, stand, talk, move around the crib, teeth eruption, constipation and a lot more. Joaqui was able to do everything and that gives me assurance that he's not delayed with his developments even before he turned 1.

I am so thankful to my OB for noticing my neck then..it gets bigger daw kasi when I swallow. Hahaha. Thats one thing she noticed when im talking to her. There are no painful symptoms actually, so I never thought that there was something wrong with it already. The blood tests confirmed everything.

One of the treatments for hyperthyroidism is thru radiation, one thing I wasnt able to do after giving birth to Joaqui since you can't be in close contact to a baby / child after a radiation procedure. I think 24 hours after the operation (im not sure on this ) , i need to be really away from Joaqui. Something that's impossible for me to do , thus i keep on postponing the radiation procedure.

And now I am pregnant once again. And this is really unplanned :)

So I have a feeling that my hyperthyroidism is active once again. And everything will just repeat itself - just like my first pregnancy. But still, im just hoping and praying for the best. Im not actually researching about it online, it gets me paranoid. I trust my OB and my Endocrinologist on this matter, so I always ask them questions directly..

.. and most of all, i lift everything to GOD.
